Art Rocks Camp

July 2015

This month we had our first ever summer camps at The Basement Community Art Studio. The themes are Art Rocks, Printmaking, and Fiber Arts.
Art Rocks Camp focused  on making crafty instruments out of found objects, many of which were upcycled items donated to the studio. On Monday We made Xylophones out of paint sticks from Home Depot.

 Rain sticks from mailing tubes!
Drums out of sturdy cardboard tubes and balloons. We had a very special story time drum circle hosted by my Mother Gayle Browne who has been helping us out all week!
Printmaking Camp
Next week is Fiber Arts camp, and we will be working with yarn, wool, and fabric. It will be fun!  Don't forget to stop by on First Friday August 7th to see examples from all the summer camps! Our featured artists for the month of August will be our talented campers! We will also have extended open studio times from 5-8 pm. It will be a fun evening!
